- Alcohol Denat / Denatured Alcoholmoderate
High concentrations of denatured alcohol can strip lipids and disrupt the skin barrier. A compromised barrier is more prone to inflammation and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
- Alpha Arbutinlow
Alpha arbutin is a gentler hydroquinone derivative that inhibits tyrosinase. It is generally well tolerated, though it can release small amounts of hydroquinone in the skin, so monitoring is sensible.
- Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C)low
Vitamin C is primarily an antioxidant and melanogenesis inhibitor. It is generally well tolerated and can help brighten existing hyperpigmentation, though acidic or unstable formulas may irritate very sensitive skin.
