Benzoyl peroxide is effective for acne but can be drying, irritating, and bleaching to fabrics. The irritation it causes can worsen post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, especially when overused.

Always use sun protection if your skin tends to hyperpigment; we recommend a zinc oxide sunscreen.
